Kart transport TBO

Post by ted johnson » Sun Jul 22, 2007 7:55 am

I;m going from Bosque Farms, NM, about 17 miles south of Albuquerque, to TBO with (2) karts and their support stuff, plus a 4-1/2 inch square X 75 inch long box of chrome moly tubing, (2) empty fuel cans, an RLV roller stand and maybe a red wagon (not sure about the wagon). I'd like to drive out from here early on the 29th with my rental car. I will carry the tool boxes and personal stuff, including chairs and cooler in my rental car. Is there anyone interested in transporting my karts, Etc.? If so, please tell me when and how much cost! Thank you. Ted Johnson

Well if you don't want to build a trailer and pull it to TBo with your kart.... why don't you check in to renting a minivan? :o

Rob, that's been plan number one all along, but I thought that if someone was going to do the "transport-for-hire" thing, that I'd take advantage of the opportunity and rent a tiny car for a more fun trip. My Jeep, though running well, will have over 200K miles by the end of next month, and I just don't want to add another 3K miles for the round trip, so the trailer-thing is out. It costs a small fortune to rent a cargo van in Albuquerque, but will probably end up with that option. Thanks for the good advice. Ted

Hey Ted, if you can get your stuff to Brodhead I can get you to TBO. Getting it back would be a head scratcher though. Just a thought>

Thanks, George. If I could get that far, Charlie would meet me with the snowmobile trailer and his F-350. The whole thing was just a thought, I thought I could make the drive more fun if I were'nt driving a long cargo van. I DO appreciate the offer! I'm getting antsy, anticipating meeting a lot of the midwestern and eastern guys I haven't seen before, and those I've already met. Thanks again, Ted

Can't you fit the stuff in a minivan?

Rob, trying to stack 2 karts, the rollaround stand and the rest of the stuff in a minivan won't work very well. The long van will let me put two rigs in end-to-end, and will leave room for the kart stands, chairs, coolers, canopy and long box of tubing. Guess that's the way it will end up. Thanks, Ted.
