I am sorry to report that Paul Bennett passed away this morning at his home in Irvine, CA., after receiving a call from his wife Bonnie. A long-term victim of leukemia, Paul was in hospice care at the end; he had been getting daily infusions of whole blood and platelets before the decision was made to place him on hospice.
Paul was heavily into both sprint and enduro karting in the 60's and 70's. Embracing vintage karting about 10 years ago, He later became an officer in VKCA.
It’s sad news but I’m glad he went quickly after suffering a lot at the end, even under hospice care and heavy drugs. Services will be on Oct. 5 (Saturday), apparently at their church in Irvine. I will pass on the delays as I get them.

Re: Paul Bennett
Matt, how awful. I had become good friends with Paul. He was a genuinely good person. He called just a couple days before the transfer to hospice, and he was cheerful. I will miss him greatly. Ted
