Have to give these gentlemen in the video props for thinking outside of the box. The current state of gas at the pump is a crime.

Do not think that using a 'stabilizing' product is a solution to the problem also, there is moisture still in your gas. Since retirement I work part time at a equipment rental company that has close to 100 pieces of equipment with small gas engine power and we are constantly fighting the ill effects of pump gas.

Bob Alexander's suggestion is a good one as is running race gas. You must be careful however if running race gas to check the composition of the gas before purchase since ethanol is used in many blends to booth octane levels.

I am lucky to have a RaceTrac station a couple miles away that sells ethanol free gas.
Costs a bit more, but I use it for all my small engines.
I used to run premium gas, thinking it would give my Clintons a little boost, but I am now convinced that this 87 octane is better with a low compression engine.

Octane helps with high compression but has a lower flame speed. Lower octane fuel has a faster flame speed but builds heat and has other issues.

Believe it or not that is where the domed piston & early hemi squish band heads were designed during the war when fuel was questionable at best to help get away from detonation.
