West Bend 580 Exhaust Manifold Questions
I have a later model Chrysler West Bend 580 with this type of exhaust manifold. How restrictive is this compared to an open header? It looks pretty restrictive to me.....
I am planning to use it on my Simplex Challenger if the Clinton doesn't work out. Is it worth the trouble and expense to change it to a header? Or should I keep it on there for just general riding around? Thanks for any replies.Re: West Bend 580 Exhaust Manifold Questions
Timothy,
Not so sure what your general riding around consists of but without a doubt you will enjoy the performance upgrade of a open header
Went from WB factory 'D' shaped muffler to a WB 'Lightning Bolt' factory open header and it was a day and night difference.
What you currently have is very restrictive, probably more so then the 'D' can muffler so a open header is highly recommended.
One more thing....Loud is GOOD.
