Chrysler Power Bee 82027 1998

Post by Jayson Stark » Tue Apr 02, 2019 10:23 pm

I have a Chrysler Power Bee model #82027 serial #1998. It has a Tillitson HL 232B carb. I was wondering if anybody had any knowledge on this particular engine like HP, CCs, where to get parts or any info would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

It's basically the old West Bend 820. 135cc, anywhere between 8.5 and 11 HP, depending on tune, aftermarket parts, Etc. Parts can be gotten from:

Some parts may be found at Comet Kart Sales in Greenfield, IN. www.cometkartsales.com

Very good engines, first produced early '62. They have a hard chromed cylinder bore, so care is needed if you modify the ports. Ted

82027, 3/4 inch straight shaft pto, counterclockwise rotation @ pto, rated 7 HP @ 7000 rpm, it is considered a "utility usage engine". It came with a .094 head gasket, put a .020 head gasket in it, it will pull 10 HP @ 8000 rpm. Good motor, putting a good kart clutch will not be possible with that 3/4 inch shaft, you will be limited on clutch and sprocket options. You can change the crankshaft to a kart stepped crankshaft (5/8 to 9/16 inch) to have better options on clutch choice. Other than the crankshaft and head gasket it is the same as the kart version.
