This year at TBO Scott Kneisel from Rochester New York brought down a interesting piece from America's early karting days.

What Scott brought down was a adjustable flywheel that offered the engine tuner the ability to change the timing on his engine by rotating the flywheel around its stationary keyed center. Note sure how it worked or if 'holding' the engines timing was a issue but it is a good example of the ingenuity that the early karters showed.

Now here is the part that I bet you missed. Another very interesting thing about this flywheel is if you look closely it says " Wirges Princeton Illinois". For those of you who don't know 'Wirges' it is Bill Wirges, Bonneville speed record holder and 2 stroke guru. ... ll-wirges/
