Can anyone tell me what this kart is? I picked it up yesterday and would like to restore it to its former glory. I feel like it is some kind of Rupp, although I haven't seen one exactly like it. It has the aluminum floor board that is riveted on to tabs that are attached to the frame, and the seat is metal.

I believe the bracket on the right side of the kart that the throttle cable runs through is not original and I'm thinking the spring attached to the brake is not either? Can anyone confirm these assumptions and also let me know if they see anything else that looks added etc.

Most likely an early Rupp, model A-Bone , 63 steering wheel or so I think. It appears the front axle or spindles may be damaged , the picture from behind showing the top of the tires make it look like they are leaning out at the top.

Definitely a Rupp, but narrow hoop didn't appear until '67 or later.

I agree that it does look like a late 60's Rupp with one exception. This kart is reinforced between the frame and spindle area. I have not seen a Rupp that looks the same in that area. It looks like it was originally like that and not something that someone added afterwards. Attached is a picture of what I am referring to.

This was the most common mod to early karts. One hit, the front axle gets bent back a bit, we straightened them and put triangular plates in to reinforce. My Pop's '61 GK 800 had them, the '62 GK 1200 I built in '07 had them. Definitely an owner add-on. Ted
