My recent Blitz kart purchased

Post by Mike Anderson » Mon Jul 24, 2017 9:34 am

Hi all,
Looking for some advice on what to do with the Blitz kart I just purchased? Should I just freshen things on it and try to keep it unrestored or strip and start over. It would make a neat historical piece I think as is but pretty rough. It is red now and I believe they were black originally. Otherwise it is pretty original. I will maybe try to get it running to bring to the Big One. Let me know.
Thanks Mike

Mike,

You've been around this stuff along time and know that running them as raced is a good way to go plus it seems like 'patina' is in big time. Bolt a ratty looking motor on it and bring it to TBO and run the hell out of it. You can always pretty it up later on.

Put points in the little Mac 9, leak checked, checked carb and started it right up. Need to get chain adjusted, a little more cleaning and it will be ready for the Big One. Yahoo

Mike,

Thanks for saving this one. Preserve and Protect is always the best way to go.
