Motor on my Blitz

Post by David Dimeola » Sat Feb 23, 2008 6:37 pm

Please help me decide the best way to setup this Blitz kart I have started a
restoration for.. My issue is this kart is ready for a right hand side motor and I have
a left hand side motor. I need some options and or ideas.. Could I easily switch the sproket and brake to the opposite side and run this motor on the left side ? How will this effect my cables for throttle and brakes ?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated..

This is a picture of the back of my kart :

David-

It looks like the kart already has dual drums, so it's just amatter of moving the sprocket over to the other side on the other drum. This was a common deal back then, so you're not doing anything out of the ordinary. If it didn't have dual drums, you'd still not switch the brake, you'd just mount the sprocket on the drum and run both from the same side. Good to hear that you are making progress on the kart!

Best of luck!
Dean
