Ted - check out this site, click on the different race fuels and click technical details to see whats in it, for instance 260GT unleaded 100 octane has 9.8% ethanol, 260GT+ unleaded 104 octane has 13% ethanol, 260GTX unleaded 98 octane has 0% ethanol. Good info, Never knew ethanol was in race gas.

This thread has drifted away from the original flush bottle build but all the info added has been very useful and were glad you guys took the time to add your opinions and knowledge and since we like 'drifting' so much in these old karts we might as well drift in another direction.

The great feature of the flush bottle is the added safety it offers and here's another safety tip when flushing, starting, or just traveling to and from the track.

Have you ever stopped and thought about what you would actually do in case of a fire in your truck, trailer or trackside. If you like most you take something as simple as carrying a fire extinguisher for granted. Small fire extinguisher are readily available at most all retail stores and that investment could save you thousand of dollars in karts or even a life if a fire breaks out.

Below is a Kidde 'marine' model extinguisher which is certified for gas and electrical fire which retails for around $30.00 which if you notice has had the date when purchased written on with a Sharpie marker so it can be replaced every 3 years. Most extinguisher manufacturers list the life of their extinguishers plus they have gauges to monitor them but at 30 bucks every 3 years its a good safe then sorry policy to just replace the unit.



Most extinguishers are fairy easy to use however there are plenty of good youtube videos on fire safety or you can contact your extinguishers manufacturer with all the additional questions you may have regarding all aspects of fire suppression. Take the extra time a learn how to use your extinguisher safely.

One other thing to remember is when traveling to carry a extinguisher in your vehicle within easy access. In the event of a fire you want to get to your extinguisher as fast as possible and a extinguisher will do you no good inside your trailer if you cannot get to it. Multiple units for both your truck and trailer is also a good investment.

Rob - Just an FYI - Kidde has recalled about 4.5 million of these extinguishers due to faulty " plastic valves ".

Whoa ! Going to have to check this out.

Like many consumables we purchase there will be recalls so don't let this deter you from getting a extinguisher.
