You know that castor oil that you mix with alky or gas to lubricate your engine, well get yourself a small squeeze bottle full of it and set it near your drill press.

This stuff make a great cutting oil for both drilling and tapping. Try it...your going to like it.

Great tip, guys. When you told me on the phone the other day to do it that way, I went right out and cotter drilled two 18-8 3/8" caliper bolts. Its like buttah! I didn't have a bottle, I just stuck a piece of brass tubing in, held my thumb over the end and let it go on the part. No chatter, no oil running away from the heat of the drill bit, no discolored and annealed itty bitty 5/64" drill bit tip! No busting the bit off in the drill guide block and permanently locking bolt and drill block together... Thanks, Bob. Ted
