Re: Before and After
Dominic,
Your restorations are appreciated by everyone and your not alone on how you approach this hobby. There are plenty of folks who enjoy the resurection aspect of a old kart every bit as much as the driving apect.
Don't feel bad about putting way too much money in a project or getting a turd part when you were expecting a diamond to show up either, it happens to everyone sooner or later and just chock it up as a lesson well learned.
Keep posting all you want, it sure makes winter go by just alittle faster.

Re: Before and After
What I like about karts, if I drink too much, It won't fall over, and land on you. The chrome cap on the top of the shock mount snaps off like a number panel on a go kart. The dealer wants $74 each, so I normally take them with me.
It was necessary to use an aluminum number panel, until I found the correct one for the Caretta VI-E. In this picture it is equipped with the Mac-8 Mike Berg sent me.
That's an extra number plate on the floor of the Dart, I'm so blind I didn't see it when I took the pictures.
The MCHal helmet has a long story behind it.

Dominic,
Very nice stuff. Come to Fremont and have fun. There'll be a kart for you to run.

Re: Before and After
Love your karts, great job on everyone. Your welcome to run one of our karts at Fremont.
Re: Before and After
Dominic,
Have been using the factory over the engine fuel tank set-up for quite a few years and never had any sort of failure. The oem mount is strong and it supports the tank well. You have to keep in mind however how long or how many laps you have run because the tank capacity is not that great.
Like the look of the stripped 'dresser' also. Had a 83 FLHS Shovelhead that was lowered, had spoke wheels and dragbars. Hurt to let her go after 30 years.

Re: Before and After
Your right Bob, but I didn't want to carry a fire extinguisher just in case.
I've had plenty of help from REAR's members in completing my projects. From T-shirts, hard to fine parts and advise, it couldn't have been done without them.
Slotcars, choppers, cars and karts it seems we're a group of boy's with our toys.....
