Keep ypur fingers crossed for me, gang. I dropped the Nike frame off at Kaehr Paint Shop yesterday for the new powder job. One of the gentlemen there comes to the Phoenix area on weekends to visit his parents. He tells me he'll bring it over when it is done, and I'll run up to Gilbert to retrieve it. I'll need a week to reassemble it, what with the current 110+ heat here. Engine is done except for installing the carbs, so that'll only take ten minutes. I sure hope to see all of you good people there! Ted

Hi Ted,
See ya there, I will have some solid axle's to ride and maybe some of my other stuff. You might try twisting our friends arm to get him to come also. He says next year but this year is now. Would like to see you both, maybe even Sue. I could provide her with a ride.

I wish I'd read this three hours ago, Mike. Ron came over to pick up some decorative concrete pavers. He's building a nifty new barbeque area behind the new house. It is looking really good. I'll see him again soon, as I have the floor pan from his "new" (Ahem!) Birel kart to CAD model and get a fresh one cut and bent. I'll see if there's interest in him and Sue joining us. I'll be travelling with Jack Canady and Al Klusman. That oughta be a blast! I don't know what their alky situation is, so if I should need four gallons, are you willing once again to bring me some, or would you rather I make other arrangements? It'll be good seeing you one more time! I'm looking forward to seeing what treasure you'll bring to the party. Ted

Hi Ted,
Fuel is no problem, I will bring what you need. Make sure to remind me a little before it is time. Use your influence on Ron and Sue. See you soon, drive safe.

Thank you, Mike. I'll talk to good ol' Jack and Al in a week or so, and if they have fuel, then I'll be set. Otherwise, I'll let you know. I'll talk to R.C. and Sue as well! Ted

Teddy,
You have plenty of time besides if you can't get her finished I'm sure you'll be able to bum a ride off of somebody at the track.
Have to ask, you think if Ron spills some barbecue sause on one of those fancy new pavers that swimming pool cleaner will make it look all new again ? LOL!

Those fancy new pavers have been stacked in my back yard since I moved here, so they're not new! Ron doesn't need a swimming pool, he's got some nice plants back there. AAAH! Luxury living at it's finest! Seriously, the new place is a nice one.
As far as the Nike goes, except for maybe hitting the floor pan with the Mother's buffing ball to clean up the scuffs, it's all ready to assemble as soon as I get the frame back. I wish I could've afforded to get the other 610 built and on the Swoopster, but that'll have to wait till next season. See y'all soon! Ted

Well, Old Nike is about 80% assembled. Still have one spindle, tie rods and toe-in, sprocket and engine to mount. Oh, yes, the upholstery, wheels and steering wheel. It went together well. The powder coat guys in Albuquerque mask off any holes I don't want to ream out. Boy, they did a great job on the powder! See you all soon. I think I spoke to Jack Canady about alcohol, so I think I'm set there. Still need to check to see if I have enough Blendzall Green Label, and I still need the starter battery charged. I need to thin out the toolbox, too. Darn thing is too heavy. Putting the rear of the kart on a diet made it a lot easier to manhandle. Cheers! Ted

I'm not lookin' forward to the part of the trip between here and Missouri, but I'll bet the trip with Al and Jack from Missouri to Fremont will be a hoot! The sprocket and rear wheels are all that's left for the kart to be a roller. I gotta draft someone to help me take it off the plastic table and onto the kart stand so I can get to the sprocket. Unfortunately I'll have to waste time breaking in the new chrome rings when I get to the track. I'll sure be glad to see you guys! Ted
