Steve, how you gonna set up the pull start for mc10's??
far as i know they weren't ever left side puills always right side.
and if you were to run a right pull you'd need to probably run the gearbox too.

of course theres always direct drive which is no joke to get running!!!

i'll see what i have to bring regardless.
my gk400 will definitely want to go.

Steve, Dave,

Great to hear you guys are going to participate. Talked to a few others just this week and this really shaping up to be quite the spectacle.

Try to keep this simple like the first karts were, remember this is not a race just a exibition.

Dave is correct, recoils starting is required. We went with recoil starting to eliminate direct drive for safety reasons [ pushers getting run over] plus it adds to the mechanical side of things. Recoil starting also eliminates having to move starters, carts, and batteries from the starting area. Remember this is a 'Lemans' start deal also.

There is a possibilty that we will allow a designated 'starter guy' to accompany and aid each driver in starting his kart. Details to follow.

R.E.A.R.

Oh...and Steve, leave the vice grips in the tool box . LOL !

I don't have a dead axle kart YET!!!
But I am in the process of restoring a super nice 1959 Dart Kart...all original with either a 510 bender or maybe it is a real early 580. Even has the original Rupp header on it. Unfortunately I don't own the kart but it is for a person most of us know so if I finish it it will definitely be there and maybe I'll even get to drive it. Odd thing about this kart is that it is very roomy with the 6" longer wheelbase. Feels comfortable even to me.
This is definitely a great idea you guys!!

Can I bring my 1959 Bug copy?
I can put a bearing in a rear wheel to make it DEAD!

Terry,

Can you offer a bit more explanation ?

Are you thinking 'live' axle set-up driving just one wheel ?

It lets it become a one wheel peel .

To bad it has to have a recoil . That puts Ol Smokey ( our Simplex MKII) out of the running . I gave up on starting an alky motor with a recoil . To many blisters .

Dear R.E.A.R.,

Yes, It has a live axle, but I can make one wheel dead.
Not a big deal, I don't want to crash the party.
