Issuing numbers when registering for the "BigOne." Then publish who was issued what number.
It would add so much to the great pictures we all look forward to every year.

Dominic,

Your concept has some valor but in all honesty we just do not have the time and the manpower to assign and enforce specific numbers on the karts.

First off you must keep in mind that we do not race at THE BIG ONE thus kart numbers are not required for scoring purposes. Seconly,I can gaurantee you that the first guy we walk up to and tell him to change his number because someone else has the same number we will be met with " you don't race so why do I need numbers".

Remember also that many folks put their favorite number on their kart because it was special to them in many ways and it sometimes holds a certain memory of the past or good luck to them and they want 'their' number to recreate their personal karting past and for them to resist to changing their number would be very understandable.

We like to keep things simple and although that sounds like a easy thing to accomplish you would not believe the behind the scenes work involved because of the shear size of the event in making sure our guest have a memorable experience when they attend THE BIG ONE . Yours and any suggestions are always welcome and appreciated however number assignment and enforcement is something were just not looking to undertake at this point.

R.E.A.R.

P.S. Don't anybody even think of taking #42. LOL!!

Seeing how it's close to "black Friday"..... when you turn on the TV & see all the people stampeed the door.... that's kinda what it's like when the gate is opened. We even sell passes the day before to ease the congestion to make it quicker in the morning. Makes some of those old western land grab's look tame.

The kart kraaaz is coming back. I guess we can't complain about the prices anymore with so many people anguishing to get rolling.
With all humility. I claim #1 in perpetuity.

OK Dominic, you can have #1 but it must be displayed on all 4 sides of the kart and both sides of the helmet at all times.

I've had great luck just posting on the forum if anyone knows who owns the red Go Kart 800 in picture #123456.... Cumbersome but effective...

Where we lived and raced "in the day", very few folks had numbers on their karts until the seventies. We had our number on our helmet only. Most of us were serious racers, and even a Nassau panel was wasted weight. I have no desire to add number panels onto my karts. I use Virg's method of the number on the picture to tell folks where to look for which kart. TJ

Simple solution: Game

Who is it? What is it? Where's it from!

Random pick. Who are these Vintage Kart Racers?
