I bought one of these years ago.
Actually, they work pretty good.
Several problems though,
You have to get the parts dried ASAP, or deal with surface rust. I mean it happens quickly. We did some tractor sheet metal, took all the rust and paint off and the water kept the metal cool, so there was little if any warpage.
Also, the sand source has to kept away from the water as much as possible, if the sand gets damp or wet it won't pick up.
The second big problem,
It makes one hell of a mess, I tried doing it on a big tarp, the tarp caught 50% of the sand and water. But with the high pressure it still goes everywhere.
I used it in my driveway in front of the overhead door, thank goodness I had the door down. The next morning when I went to the shop, the area we blasted at looked like the danged beach, flippin sand everywhere...
I have a stone driveway, for almost a year, whenever it rained or got damp outside and you walked through that area you would drag sand into the shop.
Live and learn...
I have never used it again, I have a guy near me that sand blasts for next to nothing, actually he is cheaper than me going and buying the sand to use, and no mess.
It is a good unit, works well, and if you have an area that it can be used in away from your shop, it works good.

Suggestion- Use it out in the back yard so the sand just goes into the lawn.

Question- Did you use hot or cold water ? Even washing parts in a sink, hot water seems to speed up the rusting process.

I just hooked up the garden hose to the pressure washer, cold water.
