Nope. Belongs to my son Joel. They always seem to go when they are running their best!
The rod broke half way down the straight. You usually hear of the rod cap bolts letting go, but not this time.
The worst part was the loss of all the rare GEM parts - V 12 reed cage, bottom stuffer & transfer cover. Also the Wiseco thin ring piston. I think only the crank and the head survived.

at dart kart speedway in the late 60's, our b-limited wb820 had a big-j connecting rod break. took out so much of the engine, they had to sweep the track before the next heat. jefferies was there and did guarantee his rod. we ran those 820's hard and with the big-j rod's, we were finally able to finish races

Stan, I definitely recommend going to Big Dave and getting the latest and greatest rod. The Terry Ives socket head 220 KSI bolts, or better yet, the Bonbright 320 KSI bolts, and maybe a good tie rod setup top to bottom will help. There's not a heck of a lot of meat on the 820 cylinder, either. I wonder if there may be some flex on an engine with big ports under throttle-on/throttle-off running. Anyhow, we were all sorry to see it let go. At least Terry has the "fingered" V-12's and back transfer covers. We need to get him to make us a really strong stuffer to prevent case flex at the bottom end. Ted

I'm hopin' for something with at least a 1/4" thick flange to stiffen the case. I wish we could get one with ears for tie rods. I'll certainly buy the V-12, the transfer cover and whatever else I can find from Terry for my newest 610 Libberton we're building. TJ
