Due to recent issues that we at R.E.A.R. had no control over and the very unprofessional and incompetent climate of the Clarion Hotel chain we have just discovered that the Clarion Hotel which has served as the official headquarters for THE BIG ONE for the past 11 years has had its doors chained shut due to a bankruptcy filing.

Please see the article below that we found on the internet by chance because we were given NO warning of this pending action by the management of the Clarion Hotel. At this point in time this is all the information we have on this situation,

These are motels in the area. I live here so I don't stay in any but these are the newer motels. I do not recommend the Days Inn just north of the turnpike. The rest are older and I have no idea what you would get.
I would try to use one of the discount Expedia, Orbitz or Travelosity type of discount name your price web sites.

not trying to step on your toes but i had some free time this morning and figured to help out.

i did call the hotels all at their locations.
the national number people were USELESS.
the red roof is kinda far out so i skipped them.

Comfort Inn came in at best price 114.99.
When i spoke with Dick Teal he'd said he got it about $8 cheaper.
anyway hope to see everyone.
am loading project karts in a few minutes on truck.

No Problems, THANKS so much for your help and Thanks to everybody else who has helped to spread the word on this totally unforseen dilema.

Dougs rates at the Red Roof are correct and they are some of the lowest however room availabilty is going fast because of the other activities in the area and the Clarion crash.

We will ask again, if you know of anybody who is planning on attending THE BIG ONE could you please give them a call and a heads up to whats going on.

OK, I switched sides: I cancelled my Red Roof reservation so that I can be amongst the "IN" crowd at the Comfort Inn (419-355-9300). My hat is off to Dave for getting that reduced rate!

Dave, can you use some more of that charm to convince the Comfort Inn to let us have the Saturday night dinner there, too?
