SEARS MODEL 300 GO KART

Post by BOBBYMUHA » Wed Jun 19, 2013 9:27 am

DOES ANYONE HAVE A SEARS 300 GO KART THAT YOU COULD MEASURE THE O.D. OF THE AIR FILTER THAT GOES BEHIND THE SEAT. THE KART I PURCHASED HAS THE AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY MISSING.
THANKS BOBBY

Do you need the OD of the filter element or the outline of the sheet metal casing that mounts to the back of the seat that the auto filter element mounts into? I can provide tracings of the entire assembly if that's what you need. I was going to make a couple assemblies up but never got it done.

Bobby, PM me your mailing address and I'll send you an actual size tracing of the seat back brackets. The filter measures 6.5 in. O.D. and 3.0 in. thick. It is a standard auto air filter but I don't know what brand or part number.

This info was sent to me by Phil Riley of Topeka, MS.

Bobby, we do live only a few hours apart. There are few of us in this area so we need to talk. Email me at: Clearskies01@juno.com I keep my "stuff" down at New Albany, MS which is about 3 hrs from Brandon.

I mailed you the tracing of the filter housing this evening. You should get it the first of next week.

Later....Ron

Yes, let me know cost. There is a collar that comes out from the hole at the center of the bracket. It should be wide enough to put a hose clamp on to hold the hose to the carb. Same on both sides for twin engines. The catalog offered the kart with the 4-cycle or an optional AH58 or two AH58s. Also, seems there was a lip around the outside diameter of the filter. I don't know for sure of the dimensions.

It was like a large filler neck on the old gas cans with the large hole in the center & smaller spout with a tiny spout. My guess 3-3-1/2".
