Need help identifying this engine

I've got a very old engine on a go-kart with an ID tag that shows "1439 4371195". I have no idea what make and model number it is. It's got a diaphragm carb with the numbers "78 4M9" stamped on the flange and it says Lauson Power Products on the diaphragm cover. I'm trying to find a carb kit for it, but am having trouble pulling up anything with those numbers mentioned above. There are no decals to indicate who the manufacturer was. Can anyone help? Here are some pictures...

looks like an ah47 tecumseh but the sidecover is kinda throwing me off.... definately a tecumseh ..and as far as a carb kit goes.. if you go on ebay and type in (tecumseh diaphram carb) you will find a rebuild kit tecumseh still uses those carbs on their 2 cycle snowblowers.

Thanks. I'll look for the carb kit on ebay.

Do those numbers I posted earlier mean anything? They are on a small metal tag on the engine. Kind of assumed one was the model number and the other a serial number, but I'm not positive.

the numbers definatly mean something but im not sure what they mean...u would have to have a tecumseh engine book to figure it out probably... but on the other hand i found a chainsaw on ebay that looks exactally like your engine so i think it may be a chainsaw engine.. possibly try looking up vintage tecumseh chainsaw on ebay.

I think the number starting with 143 is a sears number that can be crossed over to tecumseh.
I know that is what i used to do on lawnmowers.

Awesome. Thanks to everyone for all the helpful information! Is there any way to determine a date from the serial number...assuming that the second longer number on the tag is the serial number?
