Keep in mind also that in order for a kart to be eligable for a 'BIGGIE' it must run and be lapped on the track so it was a very special moment for all to witness these karts returned to their former glory.
After all the notes from the judges were compared and narrowed down to THE FANTASTIC FOUR we felt that the field of karts to chose from was so strong this year that we were going to have a 'honorable mention' class and we would recognize the folks who owned these beautiful machines as well as the 'BIGGIE' winners.
Listed in no particular order is our 2012 Honarable Mention Class.
Rick Raetz 1960 King Kart- Power Products
Ted Johnson 1963 Nike Kart- West Bend
Chris Marchand 1960 Putnik- Clinton
Steve Wooley 1963 Fox- McCulloch
John McCorvie 1960 Putnik- Clinton
As mentioned earlier the judging of the karts this years was just unbelievably difficult and in some cases this years 'BIGGIE' winners boiled down to a coin toss to see who would make THE FANTASTIC FOUR.
Listed below in no Particular order are the 2012 FANTASTIC FOUR winners who recieved the coveted 'BIGGIE' plus the admiration of the historical karting community for their efforts to help preserve the machines from the beginnings of this hobby we call Karting.
