Santa Maria Vintage Kart Event Aug. 24-26

I would like to make forum members aware of an an event we are having in conjunction with the VKCA and Santa Maria Air Museum, Fri Aug 24, to Sun Aug 26. As you may know, the club and track is one of the oldest still in existence and one of the best in the country (ave summer temp 72 degrees !). It was closed by the FAA two years ago but the club was able to work out a deal with the Santa Maria Airport and FAA to secure a new lease and re-open. I am a vintage karter as well as the current president of the Santa Maria Karting Assoc. I am not a member of either VKA or VKCA. I am hopeful we can host at least one vintage event each year. I am working with Terry Ives for this upcoming vintage kart event. It will be held in conjunction with the annual "Thunder over the Valley" air show hosted by the Santa Maria Air Museum. Should be quite a weekend. The track is next to where the Planes will be displayed.
