Hello, quick question for you all. i have a set of hands wheels for my 61 fox and i know the 4" fronts had a timken bearing/race setup (when i got mine there were no bearings in the wheels). I would like to run a flanged stepped sealed bearing instead. Have any of you done this and where have you sourced the bearings from? Any info/help highly appreciated!

Thanks!
Andy

Andy,
I have a couple sets of the 4" Hands. I can't imagine running them without the tapered bearings.
They are stronger and should last forever if occasionally greased. Tapered bearings are only about $2.50 a piece.
$14 would buy bearings and races for one wheel.
Just my 2 cents.

Hi Andy,

Have to say I agree totally. I have used the tapered rollers in the 4" Hands on my A-Runner since I bought it new in 1962. I run it almost every weekend from April til October and have had zero problems with minimum maintenance. When I give them a spin with the kart on its stand, I get bored waiting for them to stop. Finally, as pointed out earlier, you can buy them anywhere for cheap.
