They did! What it was, was a late 50's, so the seller said, vintage racing go kart with a Konig motor, he had a very high seller rating and was located in San Pedro, Cal. The "buy it now" price was $1,500,000.00, that's One Million Five Hundred Thousand Somolians and if you wanted to see pics other than the one he posted they were $1000.00 each sent to your email addy! Don't you guys know the infamous Theo Holstein by now? He's an "art" seller who likes to get people talking about him. He's the guy who had the $38,000.00 Percival/twin 700V5 West Bends on ebay a couple years ago. It's comic relief to a high degree, except that he takes historic karts like Chuck Balsiger's Yamaha special off the market. One of his art/comic book flyers with his porn star photo is in the "Vintage Karts" forum. It's worth a look! Anyhow, the Konig/'60 Kurtis kart he had on ebay for $1.5 Mil was worth maybe $3,500.00 tops. TJ

Kinda thought it might be Theo but didn't recognize the user/seller ID nor the location or wanted to make mention of any names attached. TL

I ran into Theo years and years ago when he was selling some other kart related stuff at greatly inflated prices. I have to say, he's an entertaining gent to talk with and has a very vivid imagination and I quite enjoyed chatting him up. He did try to sell me some vintage Captain America comic books but comic books aren't my thing.

I think he has some lingering delusional notion of value since he sold Action Comics #1 for $1801.26 (aka Superman #1) back in 1973.

You have to hand to the guy, he's the ultimate kart troll/salesman. He pops up every 6-months or so with some stupid priced kart gets tons of hits on E-Bay and lights up the forums and then disappears. Thus keeping his 'name' out there. Next time he pops up just ignore the idiot.

As to his overpriced karts and art work, we'll pick it up for pennies at his estate sale.

FYI, he bought a Homelite from me off eBay a few years ago for around $700, which was about the right price at the time, then immediately listed it on eBay for $10K, and if you were looking at his recent listings you saw he had it up there again at some delusional price. Something else to consider with him, he had it listed as NOS, when it definitely was not, and I did not sell it to him as such. The vintage kart community may not be fooled by him and his inflated prices, but he has made a killing on old comics, artwork and other vintage items, selling more than one comic for 5 figures.

People like him give this small group of generally good, honest vintage kart folks a bad name by advertising and selling products for what they are NOT. There is a federal law against that, called false advertising.
