Please help indentifying kart

Post by Paul Coyas » Fri Feb 24, 2012 1:01 am

Hi, another new guy with a kart from craigslist. I searched everywhere and looked through the forum and can't find any info. I can't find any ID or markings on the frame. The only possible clue I can find is a similar nerf bar with the correct dimensions from Comet that says it fits a Mach I or EXP.

Thanks.

Sorry to say this but you may have a better more success if you ask what kind of kartS were these before someone hacked them apart and scabbed them back together.
There is no question that the section from the front axle back to the seat back was some kind of 60s or 70s rear engine kart chassis but it has had a long front porch added up front and the rear bumper and wider frame rails from some make of later sidewinder kart or if not chopped from a later kart they were copied to look like a newer design. To wrap things up, the nerf bars look to be Invader or Emmick parts from an early 90s chassis.
To return it to its original configuration would not be impossible but it would take some work. The front porch would have to go, the steering returned to front steer setup, the nerf bars eliminated and then reconstruct the rear end from scratch.
That being said, you did come to the right place to inquire.... it is after all a Rear Engine kart :D
