Barn Find Simplex - Restore or Part Out??

Post by Tom McKittrick » Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:51 am

Ok guys, so I bought a Simplex frame off Craigslist based on pictures and the sellers description (I never learn). When it arrived, I was pretty disappointed and much rougher than I expected. Here are some pictures. I would love to get any info on this frame, new to vintage karts.. The frame is a very cool design but is cracked in several places and the engine mount has clearly been cracked are rewelded in several places. It does have quite a few origional parts. Here's my question: part it out, or is it worth restoring?? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi,

I've restored a few of these. I've got one more dual engine model right now I'm working on. You can get in touch with me.

actually that kart looks fairly nice and unmolested.
just the intact front rims would have made the kart interesting to a simplex guy.
i have a total rat simplex 5 that i'm parting out.
if you need parts there might be usable stuff.

the rims (fox i think) you have in the back are savagable and i'd be interested in them if you don't want them.
