Need advice on dart kart

Post by Mike Anderson » Tue Oct 25, 2011 3:12 pm

Hi All,
This is a search for information post. I recently purchased a dart kart with mac 7 on it. It appears to be all original and was represented that way to me. I am not a dart person so need some advice from others. Would like to know if this should be restored or left original and what year it might have been built . The kart came thru the original owner and appears that way. Paint looks original etc. I have taken a bunch of pictures but am not sure how to put them here, probably would be too many for one posting, don't need to overload the site. If anyone would like pictures to help me with information I can e-mail them to you directly. Thanks for any help. Later Mike Anderson fleagle14@embarqmail.com (317)729-2418

Mike if Bob can figure it out anyone can. He still uses a hammer to adjust his computer because screaming didn't work. Just use Photobucket. Upload pictures, cut & paste the "IMG" code they assign to the picture add it to your post & your good to go.

Mc7 was 62. 1/2 or 5/8 steering shaft... Turbine wheels?

I saw that kart on ebay. Would that be considered a super K?

WOW,
that's a beauty.
i'd leave it as is and just go through it wiring nuts and checking bearings.
maybe freshen up the motor but don't do any repainting it'll look funny.
you'd never be able to copy that vintage original look nearly as well as time did.

love the playboy sticker too.

Super Ks had solid engine mounts, frame mounted cross tank and the front struts were different. My guess is 62 A Bone with after market struts. Nice find.
