Looking for information on Go Kart

I purchased this Go Kart and it has two mac 6 engines. Does anyone know make of the Go Kart or any other information so I can identify it. Also, is this Kart worth restoring.

Chuck,
I'm cheating by looking in the The Complete Book of Karting by Dick Day. I say that it's a Capital Kart from Racine, WI. While it doesn't look exactly like the mug shot photo in the book, the caption in the book says that it has "rack and pinion steering." Is that what yours has?
As far as restoring, I would say "hell yeah" it's worthy of it, because it is so rare and kinda funky looking. Your call.

It's definitely not a Capitol kart. I have 2 of them and they're a strange frame that is super wide at the rear.

Rob's right... go to the Sugar River Raceway website and look in the photo gallery... You frame has some modification to the steering hoop and rear bumper but its surely an early 59-60 Balckhawk...

That is a really cool looking kart!! It like it would be easy to recreate. Simple lines. The hardest part would be the geometry of the front axel. thank for sharing the pictures with everyone.

Hey Chuck!
RESTORE IT! It has alot of historical value and will be worth a nice sum$ when restored. Keep it and enjoy it for many years. It looks like a real good one to start a restoration, as opposed to starting with a rust bucket.
I am a Blackhawk owner and I encourage anyone that finds one to fix it up and enjoy it. There are not many of those early Blackhawks around anymore.
Contact Marshall Fairman at Sugar River Raceway and see if he can help you with the restoration. Marshall's Dad built that kart. Email your photos to Marshall so he can evaluate what your kart might be missing and what he suggests you do to it for your restoration.
