Just for the heck of it, I upped the res to 480, and set the video to full screen. On the proto they're assembling, there are Hands wheels instead of Azusas. At around 8:31 of the video, it shows an F1 with a single engine. A tiny bit later, it's back to a dual, and there are a few seconds of Jim Yamane on his kart running. Oh, yeah, it's got an Athan or Giant steering wheel as well. Cool stuff. TJ
Ted, I noticed that about the hands wheels too. In fact, in the May 1961 issue of Karting World magazine, kart test #23 shows Hands wheels on the R1, along with some of the early ads. Back in the day, my friend and I would eagerly await the McCulloch commercials. They would start by saying..... This show brought to you by McCulloch, makers of karts and engines!! Also, I believe a Mc. F1 was featured in one of the later episodes of The Donna Reed show. The title was "The Hilldale 500".
Hi Rob, I believe it was a weekly 1/2 hour series, and McCulloch was one of the sponsers. The commercial was about 30-60 seconds long. I will try to run a search for the commercial, or maybe someone else much more knowledgeable about computers can find it. I would love to see it again!
