Noob & ID please.

Hi, newbie here.
Been a vintage buff for years and now am taking a detour into the vintage karting world. I've loved them forever and have had a few over the years. After racing modern karts for a few years, it's time to kick back & do something more relaxing.
I'll get right to the point...
Ready? What year is this?
Thanks for looking.

I don't think so....... just don't look right. Rear bumper is to modern looking.

Stinger rails flare out at the seat, and the rear bumper is integral with the rails.

Ok cool. Well, I have huge pictures of this and it does say "stinger by bug" on the pan, I changed the picture before posting because I didn't want someone to come along & try to swipe it before I get it shipped to me. It's actual color is red. The pictures I have are so large you can read it very clear. It appears to be original in color and I agree, that rear bumper appears to be welded on later.
A friend I have here in my area claims it to be one of the very early stingers. This friend of mine I've known for a few years and was on the karting scene from the beginning and even knew Mr Surwall.
I'm not out for popularity or money or to claim I'm super cool... nothing like that, I just stumbled on it and bought it because it has a certain look that I like and wanted to throw it back together.
If anyone has any brochure pictures, ads, whatever, I'd be thrilled to see them.
Here's a link to a huge picture, you tell me what it is.

Any other input is welcome of course. I'm not the pro here...

You could buy all the Stinger decals you wanted from K&P. Putting one in the pan doesn't make it a Stinger. The frame is entirely wrong. Admittedly, the front axle looks Bug, as does the super narrow hoop, though it's awfully short. It's not a '70 thru '74 Stinger.

Did they ever make a fun kart kid size? Motor mount is a dead giveaway but maybe it's a modified laydown into a yard kart?

Bug certainly had the plastic-seated Humbug, but I can't remember what the frame looked like!

I called KP mfg and spoke to the horses mouth. It was made for years... is a fun kart... A Stinger Fun Kart.
Neat.
It's nothing hugely special, but wait until you see what I do with it.
hehe!
