I am going to list some parts for sale. Was thinking of trying a REAR auction. Save EBay fees & have some fun. I thought people could PM me their bids. Do you want me to post just the bid amount so you know what you would need to bid? Was going to start out with a min & all bids will include shipping. What are your thoughts?

posting the highest bid could be good.
maybe limit auction to 6 days and post highest bid every evening.
to make it easier for you maybe start the auctions every monday .
end on saturday at a reasonable time.

Sounds like a good idea to me. On some parts you might want to do a
BIN (Buy It Now). That way your sure to get what you want for the part.

I also like the idea of opening it up to everyone ...only problem,,,its to hard for us "casual users" to post pictures on here...like to see what yer buying...ya know..

I must confess.... I have a problem . I buy old kart stuff that I don't need or even want but want to get it into the vintage community . I'm not a big fan of ebay. There are some good ideas on here so keep them coming. I'll try a few auctions tonight & see how it goes.

I understand Gary's pain. I'm useless with the photo software, so I have no idea how to reduce the picture file size to make uploading them easy for me, and fast for the guy who's trying to view them. I have no idea of how to use Photobucket, and don't really want to take the time to study it. The whole auction idea is a great one, though! Rob, you're a genius, as always! TJ

be careful with using b.i.n. as esteal may have copyrighted that term.
an alternative could be instant buy or something like.
if the seller has reserve he should just post it as the first bid or something like that.
i can't see how you'd want to spend the time it would take to watch over other peoples auctions.
maybe make a set of rules and have the people selling do their own work like posting highest bids would work.
or a set fee for using the auction function might be reasonable.
possibly a program exists out there that would allow auctioning stuff with out human help.
i seem to recall seeing something like that one day when i was surfing the net possibly frreware stuff.
the important thing is to keep things simple.

photobucket is extremely easy to use.
just make and account and put pix there.
then you touch the rectangular url button on the right of the pix for whichever function you want.
it'll say copied and you then paste that into your text of whatever you're doing

email & im = is for emails and instant messaging stuff.
direct link = is for things like posting on the forums
html code = is for stuff like ebay pix (i think)
IMG code = is for putting on your computer files

the actual code is alot longer but you only see what's in the rectangular field.
but photobuckets copy function button keeps it simple.
you only need to be able to use a mouse and know how to paste a line of text.

This post may be dead but there is an easy way to resize images for windows XP users. Its Microsoft’s power toys called image resizer.

its a 520 kb download something file making it a snap to resize ALL your pictures by selecting "EDIT"-then "select all"-then click on file- click resize image. it will automatically run through all your pics and drop them to an average of 50 kb instead of being in the several hundreds of kb.
Individually- right click on photo- look to the top and see resize image-click on it- click advanced-check bottom box-then click on OK.
For those of you with huge MB files in your photo's, this will shape thing up nicely by selecting all folders and repeating the steps above. It'll take a while for the program to run through all your pic folders but will drastically free up Large Megabytes of free space on your computer.

My ability to receive pictures is based your ability to send. If you send too large a file with multiple pictures, email won’t handle it, and I'll only receive a few of them, the rest will be lost. Also your picture will load quicker wherever you are uploading it to.
