Riedel twin 2 stroke without its fuel tank, shrouds, magneto etc. I know someone who has one, his father found it in an ME 262 hanger when the war ended and he brought it back to California. Nobody even knew what one was in WW2. Probably make a sweet little kart engine. The piston crown in the cutaway model kind of looks like a WB 820 piston, only about 20 years before West Bend built a loop scavenged 2 stroke.

That is a very cool looking engine.

That is a really neat twin, I had to hear one run .. so I found this video..

I'd be curious to find out more about the porting and induction ... it does appear to have flat top pistons, but that cutaway doesn't look like loop scavenge type porting (I think this motor is long before that porting technology) ... maybe it a cross flow scavenged with the intake port angled up like boost ports in a modern motor?
