Go Power manifold for Clinton A400/A490
Can anybody post or send me a picture of a Go Power manifold for a Clinton A400/A490?
I believe this manifold had external tubing to get lubrication to the crank bushing/bearings.
I have a manifold for an E65 which did not have the tubing and I want to modify it so I can put it on my A490.
Otherwise, I won't be able to beat Eddie Katcher at Barnesville!
Thanks,
Terry Sullivan

I have a Palamini thats basically like you described. It has an 1/8" brass tube pressed in upper left on front of mainfold. On the actual gasket surface a small trench is ground and routes to hole in crankcase that feeds lubrication to bushing. The pyramid reed cage also has a tube out the side that runs to opening where carb attaches. A small pulse line connects the two nipples. I can post a pic if you dont find the Go-Power.

Terry,
Here are photos of the Go Power manifold. It fits the E65. Not sure about the A490. The loop tube is clear plastic.
Good luck,
Scott

That manifold is for the A-400/490, not E-65. The E-65 has two extra mounting bolts and does not use the oiling lines. It may have been on an E-65 and would explain why the tubing is looped to both nipples, if run in that condition. Those nipples would attach to the reeds nipples and feed each crank bushing. If you look on gasket surface there should be a trough ground around to feed each hole in crankcase

It does have the troughs in the casting at the nipple holes. Will it make much difference in performance if it is installed on a stock A490? I put a go power manifold on a GK400c with its original WB510. Didn't seem to make much difference.

Scott,
That is the question I am wondering about. I am having trouble with my Go Power manifold and I'm thinking about just modifying the stock manifold a bit. We aren't allowing radical mods for Barnesville. Just free exhaust, manifold and carb. No porting, no custom pistons. etc. I'm pretty sure the A490 can't swallow too much more fuel in a near stock configuration.

Terry,
The March VKA newsletter has an article on the World's Fastest Clinton that was in an early kart magazine. The article shows the Go Power manifold on the engine and other stuff. The newsletter should ship in about two days. If you're not a member maybe one of your friends is.
I tried to post the picture on here but couldn't.

Thanks Dick!
Anxiously awaiting the article. I have another A490 that is heavily modified and I want to see if I missed anything.
