theres homelite engine on ebay listed kr92. my questions are i think its a saw block all my homlite kart engines are casted a tiny bit different on pto side with 4 holes for engine mount ..and i was wondering if they made a saw with the same bore as 92s ..thanks all ..

Yes, fairly sure they did. IIRC, the K82 was 5.0 cubic inches with 2.062 bore/1.5 stroke. Lotta early saws same as this model. K92 at 5.64 cubic inches with 2.187 bore/1.5 stroke, same as the Zip-6 saw.

thanks terry ,i have 3 different size jugs for homelite kr82 block.im tryin to figure out witch one goes to what .someone tried telling me that 92s came eitherway same block and jug as 82 with diff.crank or same block same crank as 82 with bigger bore 82 jug..?? ever herd of anything like that ..

With 99.9% certianty the difference between the K82 and K92 is nothing more than swapping jugs. I can back that up with articles in some old magazines.

The only difference is the bore. Piston had to be changed, of course. Homelite also offered a 1.538 stroker shaft kit to bring the K92 to 5.8 cubic inches like the later and little known KL95. TJ

thanks again ted ..i have never seen any different stroke stock cranks weather it was a saw crank with the funny long ends or kart crank ...the guy says hes got part numbers for 82s and 92s and he says cranks are 92 only...??? part #56423-a for kr92 and #56810 for kl92 but i dont have no idea what he means cuz i dont have any part numbers for 82s i did match his numbers up they are correct but like i say i have nothin for 82s but im sure there all the same crank ..if i could get some part numbers for 82s i could prove it to him ..i showed him all the sizes of jugs i have that will fit on one block ..he said they come either way and stormed out .lol.

you'll see LOTS of Homelite saws basically the same as the K82 and K92 kart engines. Lots of the jugs and pistons are interchangable, thus the different displacements. Homelite was a lot like West Bend. Just change the displacement by subbing cylinders and/or cranks, and, Presto! New engine. Go to McBob's Homelite pages:

and you'll see some of the kart engine differences. Of course, little from the KL95 and KL100 will interchange with the K82 and 92, as the cylincers were clocked at a different angle to the crank CL, and of course the cases were altogether different. The K82 and K92 have basically the same crank at 1.500 inch stroke, though they may have different balance weights. I have here an engine I made (with a LOT of work), from the later XP-1000/1020/1050 series of engines. Homelite did the same tricks here with various displacements from 4.7 C.I. to 6.1 C.I., in the C-5, C-7, C-9 and the XP series. I'd still like to make a 7.0 C.I. kart engine from the 2100/3100 series of Homie saws.
