A couple of days ago the sun was high in the sky and nearly 80 degrees. I thought about taking the Seadoos out for a few laps. This morning its already reached the high for the day of 22 degrees and a thick blanket of ice is all over everything. How do you Yankees ever get anything done wwhen the weather is like this? The few times every decade we have weather like this, I take the Bronco or Jeep out and drive on the wrong side of the road getting chased by cops that must have failed their driving test in inclement weather.

Us Northeasters are from hearty stock, a few feet of snow doesn't slow us down, it is just a temporary bump in the road. Ask Dave L. LOL, he has been really getting slammed this year. Up here the lakes region of NY, we are just getting our usual 100+ inches, maybe a bit more this year. This storm is supposed to bring us 15-18 inches of the white stuff tonight. Digging out tomorrow should be a gas!!

Enjoy the southern weather, you guys just need to wait a day or two and it will be sunny and 80 F again. Lucky dogs!!

Hey, the snow would be great to have. Its just complications after all this thick layer of ice on roads. City never expected it and didnt bother sending out the sand trucks either. Its not bad enough all those yankees that moved down here back in the 80's that think they still know how to drive on this stuff. But you add all of the illegals visiting from Mexico that dont even have a license. They have never even seen snow in a cone much less any on the ground. But all of them are getting in the way of those of us that actually know how to drive on it. Temp just creeped up to 23 now. Think I will get the sun tan lotion ready, just in case.

i wish all we had was ice.
"wintery" mix today is ice crystals on top of the snow.
next we're getting an ice storm with more snow coming beginning of the week.
just had to go to dmv to reregister my truck.
as they couldn't see any property tax payment i had to bring in proof.
as the truck was unregistered (my bad) i had to drive a linciln car in.
that was fun!!!

even here with plenty of practice there's wrecks everywhere.
best one was a car that almost cleared the guardrail by running up the snow bank.
his rear tires broke through and caught the rail top.
my question is why are you going that fast in the first place?

sure miss global warming.

how we deal???
normally i'd be in my shop happy as a clam building stuff.
plenty of heat there.
used to get a shiny new toy out every spring.

BUT stupid me i agreed to take back a commercial shopping center account .
with the state snowfall record being broken this jan. the snow removal is getting impossible.
i am now am slammed with keeping snow off the flat roofs.
stupid economy makes for bad decisions.

my poor margay cheetah is still waiting for the gas cable and brake fluid.
i say hi to it every time i go by to get the snowblower out!!!

winter in southern tier n.y.is hit and miss lucky me i live right in middle of snow belt .?? 100 plus inches a yr.anyways winter is good for me it takes me all 5 or 6 winter months to fix everything i tore up during the summer ..also good for buisness seems all the snow and swimming pool size pot holes raises havoc on cars ..have to admitt n.y. has got some of the worst roads in the country ..but they help create work for me so i can pay my taxes .therefor get to stay outa jail and play with karts ....but thats about the only upside ..im pretty close to scott i dont know about him but ive been here my whole life ..i do dream about texas ,arizona ,florida weather ..!!but it hasnt change the weather here yet ...

Plowed drive went to town & came back 4 hrs later & had 2 ft hard drift in drive. Could not even get car in. Parked in road. Can't wait to see the 3-5 ft drifting in the morning.

I'm west of Scott and Steve here in southwestern (snowbelt) NY, 7 miles from Holiday Valley Ski resort, and we've been hammered since 12/5/10. Being a bit closer to lake Erie that is finally all but froze over, hopefully lake-effect piles will dwindle. I have tons of ice on the eves, the snowbanks at the end of the drive is 9 feet tall and I'm really hoping for an early spring like we had in March of last year. So far there's been 2 small global warming thaws that lasted a day or so, other than that, its been well below freezing for 2 months. The sidewinder kart I bought in Conn. last Dec is still in the Rodeo, that how busy I've been dealing with all this weather, plus it helps my traction. Been fixing lots of kerosene torpedo heaters too, so if you guys in the kart world need assistance with your heater, feel free to email me and I'll send you the phone number to call.

Suck it Up!
