Margay & Dart Wheels

This may be a really stupid question, but are Margay wheels and Dart Turbine outer wheel halves even close in bolt pattern? They look similar. Also, I'm sorry to any of you who looked on Cleveland Craigslist and saw Go Kart Engine only to see it was a Briggs. I'm not proud of having it, but certain baggage comes with stuff you want. Mike

No they are not the same bolt pattern. Dart turbines use a steel outer thas chrome plated. Margay is spun aluminum and polished. Different size bolts too. But.....you can slightly alter the turbine inners to accept Margay aluminum halves. You can also pick up industrial steel cadium plated halves like used on some fun karts and two wheeled dollys then file and grind to fit the turbines. Lots of work, but if you dont have any or dont want to pay the current market(ebay) value, its always an option.

The ones I have seen, the guy modified the margay wheel half to fit the Rupp wheel. He didn't need the Rupp spacers, just used wider halves. They worked. Just looked different. Terry

Polish instead of chome is cool also. Just set up on a rotary table & oblong the holes with the Dart pattern with a plunge endmill.

Terry, if you are referring to the vintage Margay rims here they are not spun and polished, they are stamped, heat treated, and then re stamped after heat treat. Tom
