Kyle, the Mc7 (and Mc30) are McCulloch's first 100cc engines. They still used the "third port" to charge the crankcase, and they were the first Macs with the large crankcase opening on the manifold side. The Mac 8's, 9's, and 40's are all similar, except that the '40 had dual carbs and a single exhaust port. Of course, the 7, 8 and 9 are considered "standard" series engines, had the small air shrouds and the needle/roller bearing on the PTO side, along with a different ignition point setup and longer ignition coil mounting posts. The 30 and 40 had ball bearings on both ends of the crank and sold for a higher cost. There's more, but you get the idea. These are all great performing "classic" McCullochs, and will give you a good ride.
