ok after i've had a nap i think i got it . I can move the bottom sprocket on the axle to match the engine

What you have in your hand is a sprocket for dual #35 roller chain. From the looks of the center sprocket someone ran a single roller chain. Did you remove the sprocket from the Max-Torque clutch drum. Also the brass oilite bushing has been removed.

Everyone thought dual row chain would be stronger and help with thrown chains. It was stronger alright, but did not help with the chain throwing problem. What it did do was tear the crank right out of the block when something did go wrong.

Anyone looking for some double row chain I have a new almost full roll. I think it's called Duplex.
