1/4 x 1-1/2" studs for Mc101 manifold?

Post by philrock » Wed Sep 08, 2010 5:54 pm

I'm getting ready to put a Mikuni carb on my Mc101, as described in Rob Voska's article, "Adapting a Tillotson HR series carb to your stock McCulloch manifold."

The studs on my manifold are nowhere near long enough to reach through the carb flange and take a nut. I need studs that are about 5/16" longer than the stock studs. The studs are unusual in that there are coarse threads on one end and fine threads on the other end. I thought I'd be able to find something easily at McMaster-Carr. I was wrong. What I need is studs 1-1/2" long with 1/4-28 threads on one end and 1/4-20 threads on the other end. Any ideas where I can get them?

Stock works fine but you can get sutda at NAPA. May have to order them but no problems. Also use a long threaded bolt & cut the head off.

Philrock
Dorman Products Part No. 29105 should be what you need.
