How much past .030 can you bore a 101 cylinder before the block is no good? Has anyone ever tried to sleeve one?

Thanks...

I have heard of guys boring 0.050 over but haven't done it myself.

Anybody else have experience with bigger than the usual 0.030" over??

What is the largest 101AA piston the Terry Ives carries??
We tried to sleeve a 91 series engine years ago.
We found that there is not enough aluminum casting to support the new sleeve.
It would leak and the engine would suck air, it would distort the casting and because there was not enough casting it would not hold the sleeve.
Didn't Wiseco use to have a +.080 over piston back in the day??

Depends on the thickness of the liner that was factory installed & how straight it was cast into the cylinder. Replacement sleeves don't transfre heat like a cast in cylinder. I have a .100 over piston from Wiseco.

Thanks everyone..that really helps me determine a value on a 101 that's .030 over. It sounds like it should have enough life left in it, especially for just a few vintage events per year.

Years ago I had a dykes-ring ART 101 piston that was .095" over. I've only seen one other like it and both went to the same guy who built a matching pair from two extremely worn blocks he had in his collection for years.
