PP gaskets and seals?

Post by Dean Seavers » Sun Jun 24, 2007 8:10 pm

I was going to do a search to find out this info since I know it was discussed before, but I remembered that the old board is floating in the ether...

I have an AH58 chainsaw motor and was wondering about gaskets and seals availability and who the gurus are for that stuff. It's going on the '62 Bug so I can pull off the Mc motor for it's intended project.

Anyways, any impressions, feedback, stuff to look for, parts sources etc. would be great.

Thanks!
Dean

Dean: Hank Rotroff at 937-466-2226 is a definite PP guru, but you may find that Dan Dettman has gaskets. I know he made a bunch of them. Try him here at this forum. Ted

Dean, send your cases to Dave Bonbright, he machined mine to accept std style seals that are available from any bearing shop. If you don't want to do that, I have a set of NOS crankshaft seals.

Thanks Louie-

The Bonbright conversion seems like the way to go in the interest of keeping this one running for years to come.
