I have a Mc 91b1 how do I tell what it is set up to burn?

drilling out the passages inside the carb to pass more fuel which is a requirement if you are going to run alky in those carbs. Gas carbs can't pull enough fuel through them to run alky, which requires nearly twice the volume. You probably won't know by looking at it if it's been modified or not. If you run gas and it runs way too rich, then you'll know it's been modified. Or you can disassemble the carb, ask on this board if anyone has a list of what the hole sizes should be and then measure them.

I just spoke w/ the original owner...My engine is Gas....Thanks for everyones help.

... there is a page I set up several years ago that has the tech dimensions for the BDC gas carb... if it still meets the specs, it probably has not been modified for Alky and will run gas:

Hi Jeff,

Just a reminder.... dimension #2 on that page is incorrect and it should read .105"..... that thing would run pretty lean with the main fuel passage limited to .015"!!
