Taper lock Bushings

Post by Mike Reller » Sun Jul 11, 2010 4:18 pm

I ground the taper locks off of the axle today. The previous owner had welded the taper lock bushing onto axle, without a key. So essentially, the sprocket, and brake hubs, were held by two #10, or #12 bolts. The inner portion of the taper lock was pitted, and probably not fit to reuse. My question is, Are these hubs based on some industrial application? I plan to check with Grainger, and Mc Master Carr, thought I may be able to find out from one of you who has had a similar problem. These are not Azusa Vari-Lock hubs, and Rick told me what they were, but I've forgotten. That happens a lot these days. Thanks
Mike
