Worth The Wait
I've been looking for a vintage kart of any sort, for the last year or so. Nothing really tripped my trigger because of one reason or another. What I really wanted was a Bantam. I now live in the town where they were built, but not that many were made. This morning I got a message from Rick Chapman, saying, "call me" It turns out that he had located one, and was going to get it this afternoon. I drove over, and there it sat, the front axle was a bit of a mess, but the rest of it was in great shape. Almost no rust, and all of the essential parts were there. There in front of me was a relic of forty six years ago, When I lived to race. After a few hours of great conversation with Rick, it was in the bed of my truck, heading home. Now the real work begins, and I'm feeling the excitment that I felt back then. Thanks for thinking of me Rick. Thanks for bringing out the fourteen year old hiding in this old body. I owe you.

Mike..
When I got into this crazy hobby, I felt it was more important to save and restore these Old Karts vs turn a buck on them.
I feel the same way today.
I feel it is more important to get more guys involved and I was glad to help you find a Bantam, since I already have one.
I am appreciative of your goal to restore it and look forward to seeing it finished, since I saw it in it's rough state.
Good luck and keep me posted.
