Murder of a Rupp Grand Prix

Post by Bill Legere » Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:29 pm

Came across this Rupp Grand Prix. Thought I might share my disgust with some fellow Kart lovers. Kart was Chopped in half and lengthened and the rear was cut off and rebuilt with heavy steel to hold big engine. Original wheels discarded. Bill

Looks like it will make a great monster kart though...

I stopped & looked at a kart in a yard one day....... I looked for a long time to figure out it was a Fox or at least started out life that way just like the one I have.

Sometimes you cna pick up thigs like that for $50. A few salvageable parts makes it worth it.

A local guy had a kart sitting in front of his house for sale......$60. A real "gas pipe special" but with the front 3rd was a complete(spindles, wheels, steering, pedals, steering wheel, steering hoop) Mac F-1/R200 (sectioned into the gas pipe).

that too bad but i'd say mutilated it's rough but savable.
being a rupp i'd just part it out since there's still bunch uncut out there.
bought a rupp alot like that for 75$
the kid had same sort of lawn mower tires all for rear axles front and back.
the frame was repaired with #8 rebar jammed into the tube and welded together in an overlap.
still the rear frame clip was perfect and a dual so i bought it.
