WB820 PTO oil seals

Post by philrock » Sat Nov 07, 2009 11:48 am

I bought four oil seals (as spare parts) a couple of years ago when I had a pair of West Bend 820 Copperheads. They are SKF p/n 7872, and are still in the factory boxes. I bought them for the PTO end of the crankshaft. The seals are for a 0.7813" shaft, 1.624" housing bore, and are 0.313" wide.

The diameter of the motor shaft where it goes through the seal is 20 mm (0.7874"), so the seals I bought are small by about 0.006". Is this enough difference to matter? Has anyone tried the 7872 seal on a WB820? If so, did it work o.k?

At any rate, I have switched over to Macs, and no longer have any use for these seals. I'm thinking of putting them on ebay, and wondering if I can reasonably state that they can be used on the WB820.
