That's an awesome set-up. What kind of kart frame is that?

Jack can probably answer that question better, but if I remember correctly, Jack's Dad built it some 40 years ago ... it's a true vintage homebuilt one of a kind original. I was lucky to have been able to drive it myself at TBO, I'm 6'3" and was able to get in it and that kart handled great, the Disston-PP mill packed a real nice punch and left me grinning ear to ear!

....I was trying to find this photo before, that Jack had sent me several years ago, long before he brought this motor on a kart to the TBO last year ... here is the photo, it shows a little more of the engine...

Jeff, thanks for posting my kart again. It really perks up this old guy when others enjoy what we did 50 years ago. Jacob, this was our second kart, the first was a Missle, the only ready made kart we ever had. Dad designed and built this one over the winter of 60-61. It was light, 68 pounds with PP 58. The twin was first built up in 63. was my first attempt at mixing and matching parts. I brought the kart back to life about 7 years ago and have run it with a pair of Mc 10s, single Mc 10, PP 58, and the Twin. Really have to thank Bob for showing how good it is on track since my old lungs do not allow me much track time.

Hey, Jack! How are you doing these days? My cataracts are hopefully getting removed next month so maybe I can make Fremont one more time. Will Rogers told me that he's building a Disston/PP58 setup like yours. Pretty cool to have one on the coast as well as the midwest! Charlie and I hope to pit next to you and Al this TBO. Looking forward to seeing you. Ted Johnson

Hi Ted, get those peepers fixed. Will be good to see you guys again. Yes I sent Will my spare crankcase so he could see how to do mods for PP cylinders. Hope his works well.

Is there any on-line documentation on the build details of that engine?

I would really appreciate learning more about it.

Thanks.

Jack- that is just flat-out awesome. The Power Products motors of that era are already good engines but as a twin cylinder look to have a lot of punch. Bob does a great job driving in the video.
