Steering wheel and front end look like early Bug to me, but the steering hoop and seat back do look like Homelite..

Yes, it is a Homelite Spitfire, circa 1960 stub axle. I just acquired one last week from a good friend.

It's listed on Craigslist under (O Hare) for $500 or best offer. Not a bad deal with a Mc-20. Should be a good starter kart if he takes PayPal.

Looks to have a repaired frame both sides behind the seat .
