hi guys it is a mcCulloch kart Iv had to cut alot of stuff off it to uncover what it is
could someone please post some pics of this style kart for me im trying to put it back to the org. way it was . I know the rear end is wrong but I need some good pics. of a corret one thanks for your help guys
its a McCulloch 200 kart I think the year is 1961

Sweet....A sidewinder McCulloch kart, never seen one of those before....

That's going to be a pretty big project, replace/realign the front and rear end and it looks like the frame rails are bent just behind the front axle and near the steering hoop. You may want to keep that as a parts chassis and try to find something a little closer to stock, they are fairly common and come up regularly on E-Bay for a lot less time and money than you are going to invest bringing this one back, unless you're a real glutton for punishment or in desperate need of a long involved project .

i'm not sure but it looks like the front axle has been offset too.
an excellent parts donor though.

this kart is not as bad as you guys think John at foxvalley looked at it said it will be fine just replace the tube in the rear end ive seen alot worse out there the bend in the tubes behind the front axle are to be bent upwards no you guys are not going to get this one

I'm sure no one is trying to bilk you out of your kart- just point out that is a pretty big project. If you look at the front axle, one side is longer than the other, making it an offset kart, which it never was to begin with. So you'll have to put in a new front axle, in addition to the work on the rear part of the frame- you're also missing the stock McCulloch frame/engine mount and the linkage. So it's not as simple as just replacing the tube in the rear if you're going to restore it to the original configuration. It's possible to restore any kart as long as you're willing to do the work, but it's going to take a lot of work to bring this one back, and these fine folks were just pointing out that it's not horribly hard to find a better frame to start with, that's all.

Kyle, we are a pretty tight community so shysters and scammers flush themselves out in short order. Everyone is a friend of a friend and if you screw someone over, everyone will hear about it sooner rather than later. Not to mention that a majority of the folks on the board actually have met in person at Fremont or at other events.

We were trying to share our opinions, based on prior personal experience, as to the condition of the kart in an effort to be helpful and maybe save you some hassle and $$$$. That said, it is your kart and you can do with it what you want, but please don't imply we were giving you bogus advice to scam you out of a boat anchor that is worth maybe $150 provided the steering wheel was in good shape. I know I've got plenty of project karts and I think Dave has enough to outfit a whole event by his lonesome the last thing either of us need is another project.

As Dean pointed out, anything can be restored provided you are willing to spend the hundreds of man hours and thousands of dollars to bring it back to OEM specs. If that prospect floats your boat, by all means have at it. For me personally, a project of this magnitude would be justified if it was something super rare, unusual or had special meaning. The fact of the matter is that this kart is fairly common and it would be far cheaper and easier for you to find a better candidate for restoration...Again, it is totally up to you and I wish you well.

i have two r1's that are pretty complete.
if the local crack head hadn't swiped my camera i would've post some detail pix for you.

BUT Dan isn't right about me fielding a whole event.
i do sorta kinda have maybe 35 karts or so and a few dozen engines maybe five dozen .
But really i'm only one guy so it would be boring to be there alone.

we offer advise for free.
i am known for keeping everything and fixing really bad karts is something i like to do.
yours i would consider a parts only buy.

to be honest only your rims,rear axle and brake, pedals (but they are rupp) the steering gear and the back seat cover are usable.

i swiped the pix from mcbobs site so you can see an example of a really nice r1.
look at the picture.

your frame is missing an entire frame rail , the steering hoop has been changed ,the front axle is toast .
the rear clip and correct gas tank and mc pedals are completely missing.
the rear clip and gas tank are distinctive and without them it ain't an r1 or 200.
there are nicer frames out there to build .
your parts are a good find and you can use them with a better frame.

if you're in the market i will sell one of my r1's to you with a solid frame and all the correct parts.
that includes perfect mc pedals,good steering wheel and center emblem clip,a rear clip with perfect rubber mounts, dual gas linkage, correct seat back tank.
your rims would complete it and then you'd have a decent start to a really nice r1.

It's not an R-1, it's an F-1 in 1961, renamed the R200 in 1962. It's not missing a top frame rail, that's the way they were built. The R-1 was top of the line (R= racing) the F-1 was the fun/racing kart (F= Family or Fun) and they made a C-1 which was a concession kart with all kindsa nerf bars and such. In '62 they changed the colors and the names- R1 became the R300 and was blue, the F1 became the R200 and was red and Ia strippy version of the R200 called the R100. There's no mention of the concession kart in the '62 catalog.

That said, Kyle's still needs a new front axle and reworking of the entire rear section, plus finding or fabbing the McCullouch base mount, as well as the solid linkage and finding the correct gas tank for it. A big project no doubt, and as we all know, it's way easy to spend more restoring karts than they will ever be worth. A worthy pursuit in and of itself, butnot a hobby, especially in these times that pays you back very often.
