To All,

I'm interested in getting an indication of the level of demand the vintage karting world can generate for a service to repair Mac side covers that have a loose bearing pocket. The repair would not be your typical peen marks or some glue :D
I'm talking about a top flight machinist sleeving the bearing bore and machining it back to the correct dimension to provide the interference fit needed to keep the bearing from moving or spinning even at full operating temps.
Let me know how many you would want done and what you would be willing to pay to save an otherwise good side cover.
The repair would not apply to side covers that have a crack in the section that holds the bearing, only those that are simply loose.
I know there are a lot of the parts out there and many are in great shape and have the original stickers on them... just bad bearing pockets. It will take some time and money to create the tooling to do the job so the more parts that can be gathered up at one time the cheaper the cost per unit.
Let me know.
